R15(2000/2000i/2002) & R16(2004/2005) Update Information

Cadlantic R15/R16 Update (02-06-2005)

Cadlantic is pleased to roll out another upgrade.  The Downloads page includes updates for both R15 (2000/2000i/2002) and R16 (2004/2005).

Improvements:
PUSH2K forces the UCS to World before exporting, compensating for the AeccExportToAutoCAD2000 command's failure to do so.  Treatment of xrefs is correctly dependent on the AECEditor "Export to AutoCAD" settings in Land Desktop/Civil Series Options.

ISPOT can interpolate between contours/polylines that are nested in xrefs.

ANGLIST, ATEXT, LABEL_IT, PTRACE, QuickProfile, RLABEL, SEGLIST, VTWIST, AND XOFFSET, all received an improvement to converting coordinates of nested objects.

Fixes:
The Cadlantic authorization scheme contained an old condition that would invalidate new installations after 01-01-05.  Fixed.

Cadlantic R15/R16 Update (08-29-04)

Cadlantic is pleased to roll out another upgrade.  The Downloads page includes updates for both R15 (2000/2000i/2002) and R16 (2004/2005).

NEW (and free):
GripOpen shows you how many open polylines are on on a selected layer (in the current layout/cvport), with one pick, and grips them so you can see them and/or take action on them (if PICKFIRST is 1).
Like GripLayer and GripPrevious this is best used if you have a wheel mouse and MBUTTONPAN turned on to transparently zoom/pan so that grips stay on.

VPLOCK
lets you lock selected viewports in any layout (window, crossing, etc.).  It reports how many are unlocked prior to selection and how many additional were locked after selection.

VPUNLOCK
lets you unlock selected viewports in any layout (window, crossing, etc.).  It reports how many are locked prior to selection and how many additional were unlocked after selection.

NEW (but not free):
XNOTES
provides interactive access to AEC_TEXT_NOTEs and AEC_REF_DOCS nested at all levels in a drawing. If you can pick it, XNOTES will show you all the notes and references attached to an object and to all its parents as well, including xrefs and anonymous blocks.
It will report if the reference documents are found as well as their size and last-modified date, and permit you to open them if they are associated with an application. You can even CopyClip the notes to the Windows clipboard.

Improvements:
PUSH2K and POP2K can now save and restore AEC* objects nested in blocks, including xrefs that are to be bound.  Contour Styles are now restored exactly as they were including the label text style.  Points and Curved Text also retain their text style properties.

LABEL_IT has a new text offset setting for each label style and an override option as well.

BKEEPER, Horiz2Vert, and PCONNECT have all been updated to use the newest version of DOSLIB (included).

LSTAT has a new toggle to turn off searching for saved LSTATS in xrefs.

Fixes:
LABEL_IT would crash when trying change the text height in a table style. Length precision would be overridden even if the override was turned off.  All fixed.

PCONNECT
would fail to find the last point added to the database in the current drawing before saving. Fixed.

DUPDEL
incorrectly interpreted certain entity selection filters.  Fixed.

DDVFILE and 3DSTAKEOUT had a misspelled variable that would allow it to be global.  Fixed.

PJOIN and QJOIN now work with respect for the PEDITACCEPT variable in R16.

QPROFILE would produce false X,Y values (like way off). Fixed.

Cadlantic R15/R16 Update (03-08-04)

Cadlantic is pleased to roll out another upgrade.  The Downloads page includes updates for both R15 (2000/2000i/2002) and R16 (2004).

Improvements:
Several internal functions were streamlined to work faster.

EDITNUM
was subject to the AutoCAD limitation of 16 significant digits. It has been rebuilt to overcome this limitation.

Fixes:
PUSH2K would fail to recognize certain versions of R16.  Fixed.

LABEL_IT had a situation created in the 09-27-03 update that produced an error when creating a tag table from previously tagged labels. Fixed.

PCONNECT would fail to find the last point added to the database in the current drawing before saving. Fixed.

DUPDEL incorrectly interpreted certain entity selection filters. Fixed.

Cadlantic R15/R16 Update (01-11-04)

Cadlantic is pleased to roll out another upgrade.  The Downloads page includes updates for both R15 (2000/2000i/2002) and R16 (2004).

NEW (and Free):
GripLayer and GripPrevious
Rather than isolate a layer, just select an object, find out how many objects are on the layer (in the current layout/cvport), and grip them so you can see them and/or take action on them (if PICKFIRST is 1).

Or, GripPrevious will grip those objects in the previous selection set in the current layout and report how many objects were gripped.

These are best used if you have a wheel mouse and MBUTTONPAN turned on to transparently zoom/pan so that grips stay on.

Improvements:
PCONNECT is a GAZILLION TIMES FASTER as it preweeds out mismatches, and sorts data more intelligently.

QuickProfile now includes Graphical object selection including AECC_POINTs, any point block with an elevation attribute, and basically most anything that has an insertion point, EVEN IF NESTED IN A BLOCK OR XREF!

LABEL_IT now includes a QUICK_LABEL_IT "QL" shortcut to jump directly to labeling. The recall of your last-used settings are all there and the right-click overrides are saved for your next use.

Horz2Vert was overhauled to work a whole lot faster.

3DP (3DPoly) now accepts direct distance entry and saves defaults for Grade vs. Elevation for the duration of the AutoCAD session.

Fixes:
CHGELEV would screw up with AECC_CONTOURs. This is fixed.

CJOIN
would screw up AECC_CONTOUR label points. Fixed.

PCONNECT
might report "fewer than two points" even if there were references to recalls or terminations at other points. Fixed.

DDCHANGE
would screw up color selection. Fixed.

LPPROP
would fail to grab certain layer properties. Fixed.

PTEXPORT
would fail if the ELEV attribute were non-numeric. Fixed.

Cadlantic R15/R16 Update (09-27-03)

Cadlantic is pleased to roll out another version upgrade.  The Downloads page now includes updates for both R15 (2000/2000i/2002) and R16 (2004).

NEW:
PUSH2K and POP2K
PUSH2K exports from 2004 back to 2000/2000i/2002 with Land Desktop AECC object data saved intact in the drawing for restoration by the Cadlantic "POP2K" program.
POP2K restores AECC objects intact in 2000/2000i/2002 exported from 2004 by the Cadlantic "PUSH2K" program.
   Objects include:
     Countour styles (AECC_CONTOUR_STYLE)
     Contour objects (AECC_CONTOUR)
     Grading objects (AECC_GRADE)
     Curved Text (AEC_CURVETEXT)
     Cogo Points (AECC_POINT)

NOTE: In "Land Enabled" versions of AutoCAD, most AECC objects can be restored. Grading objects could be restored but they would not appear, so they are therefore ignored. Grading objects can be restored in full versions of Land Desktop.

If you need to share files between 2004 and earlier, this is your solution.
Site license is only $199 US for both programs.

Horiz2Vert
Creates labels in a Land Desktop profile from points picked in plan view relative to a Land Desktop alignment.
Includes user options for:
  Station label
  Elevation
  Repeatable descriptions
  Choice of label orientation:
  Horizontal Left
  Horizontal Right
  Vertical Left
  Vertical Right

Vert2Horiz
Lists and/or labels FG profile elevations in plan relative to a Land Desktop alignment.
Includes label options for:
  Station and Offset
  Elevation adjustment (+ or -)
  Description prefix

QuickProfile
For FG:
Draws lines in a Land Desktop profile from points selected in plan relative to a Land Desktop alignment, or
For EG:
Writes the station/elevation out to a file to import into existing ground.

Taper
A cute utility for tapering the width of each segment of a polyline to give a little depth to those otherwise boring treelines.

Improvements:
KILLDOTS can now find and delete zero-length Ellipses, Splines and AECC_CONTOURs, plus Mtext that has nothing but spaces and/or formatting.

LABEL_IT now includes overrides for Linear, Angular, and Alternate precision.  Plus the "Match" option can be escaped without program termination.

VTWIST has a new option to select the angle simply by picking an object, even if nested in a block or XRef.

SCALLOP includes the new "Taper" option.

LPPROP now employs the standard AutoCAD color dialog and has options for Plot/NoPlot

UBLOCK can now create user defined blocks including custom objects such as AECC_CONTOURs..

XOFFSET now provides the option to show the Option dialog at the start of each command or just once per session. A toggle is provided to change this option as desired.

ATEXT and HTEXT now observe the presence of grouped objects, and now treat dimension angles correctly.

CHGELEV now supports AECC_CONTOURs.

RPOLY includes the ability to reverse plain Lines.

VTWIST has a new option to select the angle simply by picking an object, even if nested in a block or XRef.

DDCHANGE now employs the standard AutoCAD color dialog.

SPOT now creates a block definition using just layer "0" and color ByBlock, at the request of LGA.

PJOIN and CJOIN now default to a larger tolerance for automatically joining segments without creating a new segment.

Fixes:
Several programs might have caused a hang-up when selecting layers.
 These are fixed.

Several programs might invoke the incorrect AECC application.  These are fixed to be version-dependent.

LPPROP would not freeze/thaw layers selected.  This is fixed.

PURGEALL had a shortcoming in possibly deleting layouts.  This is fixed.

3DPOLY might snap to unwanted points. This is fixed.

CJOIN and VEDIT now properly read AECC_CONTOUR elevations via ActiveX methods.

VTWIST checks for locked viewports and other possibilities.

VTWIST, LABEL_IT, ATEXT, XOFFSET, RLABEL, SEGLIST, and PTRACE might fail to find a point on an LWPOLYLINE if it had a width greater than zero.  These are all fixed.

Cadlantic R15+ Update (02-05-03)

NEW:
LDREPAIR:
Fixes the apparent disassociation of Leaders and MTEXT in most cases, which are due to the apparent failure of the built-in AutoCAD reactors to handle disparate elevations and distances. It will not fix associations due to differing extrusion directions, since there may be some users who like 3D leaders.

VEDIT:
Sort of like PEDIT, provides ability to Delete, Insert, or Move the vertices of LWPolyines, Polylines and AECC_CONTOURs.  As usual, it includes locked-layer checking and Undo control. Sub-commands, including Undos, are repeatable with a simple return or pick (to the extent they make sense).
It includes an AutoPan feature and the option to turn on ContourStyle grips if they're off.

Improvements:
Most routines that offer layer selection via a list now include a "Select" button to acquire the layer name by selecting an existing entity.

The Cadlantic Zoom commands can now be toggled on/off at will in the CV_ALIAS dialog.

PURGEALL:
Now provides the option to remove unused Appids, also known as Registered Applications, stored in Xdata (Extended entity data). If your drawings have been exposed to Eagle Point or other add-on
applications, this option can reduce your drawing size (and crashes) considerably.

BKEEPER now employs McNeel's DOSLIB2K.ARX functions to facilitate changing the BKEEPER path. Many thanks to Dale Fugier.

CHGELEV now includes the ability to change elevations by a relative distance.

COPYLAY and OFFLAY now offer "RETURN for list" instead of just "RETURN for current layer."

XOFFSET now provides the option to show the Option dialog at the start of each command or just once per session. A toggle is provided to change this option as desired.

Fixes:
SPOT2PNT had a typo that stopped it. This is fixed.

3D2PROF had incorrect EG types (Left Center Right). This is fixed.

ATEXT failed to find the pick point on a LWPOLYLINE with elevation
other than zero. This is fixed.

BKEEPER:
- Would fail with errors if the drawing were empty of graphical objects.
- Provided a useless "Select <" button for selecting layers.
- Would impolitely force users to type in a valid layer name once an invalid name was entered, instead of permitting the selection of another layer or another block name.
These are fixed.

BULGE - fixed the annoying osmode switch to restore the latest
value instead of the original value.

EDITNUM would fail to display changes to attributes until after a regen. This is fixed.

LABEL_IT could mistakenly delete other objects associated with MText labels instead of only associated Leaders. It could also crash if there were only one tag prefix in the drawing other than "N." Similar to BKEEPER, there was a remote possibility of crashing if labeling arbitrary points in an empty drawing.
These are all fixed.

MTLEADER would fail if the Mtext had more than 256 characters.
This is fixed, plus portions of code were converted to ActiveX methods.

SPOT might echo an arbitrary ".SELECT" notice to the text screen. This is fixed.

TAKE_OFF would crash due to missing data in the TO_DFT.LSP default file. This is fixed.

ZOOM commands 'ZE and 'ZA use ActiveX methods which failed to honor locked viewports.
Additional code has been added to resolve this ActiveX shortcoming.

General - A reactor has been removed that would lock up VLIDE.

Thanks to all who reported the bugs. As a reward, and consistent
with our policy to exterminate bugs ASAP, updated program files were
sent to those clients within 48 hours of each report.

QJOIN was missing a lot of LWPOLYLINE objects to automatically join.
This is fixed and works the way it was intended... GREAT!

XOFFSET failed to retain the user's selection of a "Constant" value.
This is fixed.

Improvements:
3D-FLT:
Now uses the Layer name of the entities selected as the description of each breakline. Based on discussions in the LDT3 Newsgroup c. 10-29-02

Cadlantic R15+ Update (03-22-02)

Fixes:
AutoCAD 2000/Land Desktop 2 (R15.0):
Lisp and Osmode reactors that were added in the January 2002 and subsequent updates were found to crash this version of AutoCAD when opening other drawings in the same session. These reactors and the "Quick Object Snap" feature have been disabled for this release.
These features remain enabled for both 2000i/LDT2i (R15.05) and 2002/LDT3 (R15.06).

CN_EDIT would malfunction with a "bad DXF group (62)" error when an attribute's color was BYLAYER. This is fixed.

CADvantage R15+ Update (02-13-02)

Enhancements:
BKEEPER:
Hides the drawing path if the global $cv_bkeeper_path variable is set.

LPPROP, LPFREEZE, LPOFF, and VPLFREEZE:
Now include the ability to select layers within nested objects and when nested more than once provide a dialog indicating the object's layer and all its parent's layer and names. Plus "N" or "O" toggles for nested ON vs. OFF, and "Add" or "Remove" toggles for adding or removing layers from the list.

KILLDOTS is back (and free):
Recovered from the archives of the Compuserve ACAD Forum by the ever jocular Tracy Lincoln, and returned to its author, we present this "New and Improved" version (02-13-02). This utility will delete all single-vertex polylines, zero-length lines/polylines, and text with empty strings or just spaces from a drawing.
NOTE: It bypasses, but does not stumble on locked layers.

Fixes:
Haste makes waste. In a previous revision we added a reactor that we failed to disable when closing a drawing to open another.  With apologies, this is fixed.

3D2PROF would intermittently fail to remove a PVI before adding a new one, resulting in an automation error. This was due to precision limitations and is now fixed.

LABEL_IT, RLABEL, and SEGLIST would on occasion error out or find the wrong point on LWPOLYLINEs. This is fixed.

3DP failed to ignore running object snap when creating the new vertex. This is fixed.

SPOT missed setting proper precision for New/Relative.  This is fixed.

VPMAKE failed to set PSpace ON when finishing, and could begin with an incorrect default angle. These are both fixed.

CADvantage R15+ Update (01-17-02)

Enhancements:
CV_ALIAS for R15+ now includes a toggle for automatically adding the Quick option to running object snaps (something for which R15+ barely provides any choice or information).  Plus, unauthorized or evaluation versions previously lost the CV_ALIAS command after expiration of time. The command is now available to set Project History and Quick Osmode preferences even if no other routines are authorized.

PURGEALL now purges blocks nested in unreferenced blocks via a more intelligent mix of Visual Lisp and ActiveX.

SPOT has been embellished even more to set SPOTs at relative distances and elevations based on options for Difference, Grade, and Slope, including direct distance entry capability.  Plus, you can either type in an elevation or just pick any point at any "Elevation" prompt.

Installation:
You can now choose to load Cadlantic Custom Utilities for R15+ via the APPLOAD StartUp Suite, or by the usual means of (arxload), which places an entry in your ACAD.RX file. The difference is that the APPLOAD StarUp option is profile dependent since there are separate APPLOAD settings in the registry for each profile, whereas the ACAD.RX option is independent of profiles and will load no matter what the profile.

Note that if you do both, the ACAD.RX file is loaded before APPLOAD; the load will be global; and you will be warned of the duplicity via an alert. See the file Installation.TXT for more information.

Fixes:
BKEEPER returned errors or crashed when at starting, the first item did not have a slide and the user elected to automatically make one. This is fixed.

XOFFSET would return "Unable to find point on LWPOLYLINE" if the polyline had an elevation other than zero. This is fixed.

Zoom commmands - ZA,ZD,ZE,ZI,ZO,ZP would fail when toggling between drawings in MDI (Multiple Document Interface) mode. This is fixed.

CADvantage R15+ Update (04-10-01)

Fixes:
ATEXT would incorrectly realign MTEXT and DIMENSIONs in a UCS other than World.  This has been fixed.

BULGE, LABEL_IT, PTRACE, RLABEL, SEGLIST, and XOFFSET would fail to find a point nearest to a curved segment of a LWPOLYLINE in Land Desktop 2i (Service Pack 2). This has been fixed.

3D-FLT would fail if only LINES were included in the selection set.  This is fixed.

DDMTEXT did not filter out text styles that are actually shapes. This is fixed.

Revised Files:
C:\CADVANT.AGE\CVR15.VLX
C:\CADVANT.AGE\CV_INFO.TXT
C:\CADVANT.AGE\ReadMe Too.TXT

Enhancements:
XOFFSET now provides options for Layer, Color, Elevation, Linetype, LTScale, and Thickness of the offset entity. The option methods are "Original", "Current", and "Prompt", which are saved in the file XOFFSET.DFT. The first time XOFFSET is run per editing session, the Options dialog will be displayed. Subsequent runs within the same editing session won't automatically show the dialog but there is an "Options" option within the command prompt. The "Current" method permits overrides of the drawing's current settings, and permits creation of new layers as well as linetypes that may not yet be loaded.
